About

Hi, I’m Brett Bichard — a voice artist, actor, writer, and lifelong storyteller.

From the rolling vineyards of the Hunter Valley to the bright lights of Newcastle’s stages, I’ve always believed in the power of a well-told story. Whether it’s through the microphone, on the stage, or on the page, my mission is simple: to bring stories to life in a way that connects, captivates, and lingers.

Armed with a Bachelor of Communication, a BA in English and Writing, and an unstoppable creative spirit, I’ve found my voice — quite literally — in the world of voiceover and performance. Since 2022, you’ll often find me treading the boards in musical theatre productions, or behind the mic in my home studio, shaping voices that spark imagination.

I believe great storytelling happens when heart meets craft — and that’s what I bring to every project.

Let’s tell a great story together.

🎙️ Podcast Portfolio: Creativity in Conversation

As part of my Bachelor of Communication and Bachelor of Arts, I embraced every opportunity to turn assignments into creative audio experiences. Podcasting allowed me to combine my passion for storytelling, my voiceover skills, and media production training into thoughtful and engaging content. Here are two standout projects from my time at university:

🏙️ Ground Zero: Rebuilding New York

Podcast Topic: The World Trade Center, 9/11, and urban resilience
Summary:
This podcast takes listeners on a journey through the impact of 9/11 on New York City — not only the immediate aftermath but the years of grief, resilience, and architectural renewal that followed. From survivor stories to the design of the One World Trade Center, I explored how a city rebuilds both physically and emotionally.

Disclaimer: This podcast contains audio recorded in New York on September 11, 2001, and some listeners may find the content in this podcast disturbing.

📺 Through the Lens: Censorship and Cultural Shifts

Podcast Topic: Media censorship and changing interpretations of popular culture
Summary:
How does society reshape meaning? This podcast unpacks the history of censorship in media and how evolving social values alter the way we perceive popular texts — from books and films to viral content. It reflects on the role of creators, gatekeepers, and audiences in defining what’s “acceptable” and what’s not.

Why Podcasting?

Podcasting wasn’t just an assignment — it was a creative outlet. These projects are just two examples of how I brought together research, writing, production, and performance. They helped refine my voice as a communicator and storyteller — and laid the groundwork for my continued passion for voice work and media.
